Use a Windows 32-bit operating system
Download and install Qt.
Download and install MinGW for Windows.
Add MinGW bin folder to PATH.
Edit %qtdir%/mkspecs/win32-g++/qmake.conf Prefix -static to QMAKE_LFLAGS It should now read: QMAKE_LFLAGS = -static -enable-stdcall-fixup -Wl,-enable-auto-import -Wl,-enable-runtime-pseudo-reloc
cd %qtdir%
configure -static -release -no-exceptions this step will take minutes
mingw32-make this step will take hours
Update the application version information in main.cpp.
build the application in qt creator in release mode
strip -s securenotepad.exe
upx -9 securenotepad.exe You can find upx at http://upx.sourceforge.net/
