The problem with AdskIdentityManager.exe, which prevented login under Fusion 360 or Autodesk Fusion (new name), has now been fixed! (#408 & #432) ✅

These bug fixes have been added into the still active installation file. 📦

Problems such as the incorrect desktop path to the Fusion 360 executable file will be rectified to ensure a smoother and more seamless experience for all Linux users in the future. Thus far, we've successfully resolved over 200 issues, and with your assistance, we will tackle both existing and future challenges head-on. 💯

Thanks to the support 🛟 of the community, the problem with the FUSION_IDSDK & WEBVIEW2 has been fixed and the installation script has been adjusted! 🔔

In addition, some links have been changed so that the correct Wine version can be downloaded.

⚠️ Important, Wine version 8.14 or higher is now required!!! ⚠️

Otherwise, Fedora 37 has been removed ⛔️ and Fedora 39 was added ✅.

Good evening Fusion 360 for Linux community! 👋

Today I made some changes in the Installation Wizard:

• Fixed a few bugs (e.g. The standard installation, no default folder was displayed and found!) ✅
• Support discontinued for some Linux distros! (Debian 10, Ubuntu 18, Fedora 35/36 and openSUSE 15.3) ⛔️
• Added support for some Linux distros! (Debian 12/Testing, Fedora 37/38/Rawhide and openSUSE 15.5) ✅
• Bug with the Autodesk Single Sign-On (SSO) for Fusion 360 has been fixed with a workaround* so that newer versions of Fusion 360 can be used again! ✅

• ⚠️ However, one or the other can lead to errors such as performance losses when editing models. ⚠️
  💪 But these problems are already being worked on with some people from the community! 💪

The login to the newer Fusion 360 version is now working again!

A way was found to deactivate the new login variant so that the old login method takes effect again.

This does not affect safety!

Only the functions with the Autodesk Single Sign-On (SSO) cannot be used, such as the link to a password manager app.

Many thanks also at this point here to the great community, who have been looking for possible solutions with me for many weeks and have sacrificed their free time to clear this serious bug aside!

And now let's implement wonderful projects with Fusion 360 on Linux together again!!!

Good morning dear community 🙂,

As some of you may have noticed in the last few weeks, Autodesk has rolled out a login function (single sign-on (SSO)) for Fusion 360 with the April 2023 update ...

With this new feature, the user now clicks a button during the login process and a separate web browser is opened in which they must continue the login process. If the login was successful there, it switches back to Fusion 360 and you are logged in and can continue working with Fusion 360. 🗝

However, this new feature is not properly supported under Wine! ⚠️

So that you can still use Fusion 360 on Linux, some people from the community and I have selected and frozen the installer (May 2023 update) of Fusion 360 for future installations on Linux. ↩️

Unfortunately, however, all newer functions from the April 2023 update cannot currently be used! ⛔

But don't worry, we're looking for a solution! ⚙️

And now you can continue working with Fusion 360 on Linux. ✅

However, I still have to work on some construction sites, but one thing I can say for now, there will be an automatic detection of the Linux disturbance and graphics card used, in order to be able to install and set up all important packages even more easily in the future. 🔜

There will also be some performance improvements, since with the new Wine Version 8.3 Windows 11 has now also been selected or improved and I have made a few more modifications! 🚀

Almost 2 weeks ago I had the time to extensively test the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse under Fusion 360 (Wine). 📺

And got it working thanks to the help of a community member "@DD1984" and Arch Linux's strong documentation. 📒

However, the configuration was quite complicated! ⚠️

But don't worry, we're working on adding support for the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse to the installer. 🛠

I just updated the list of all tested extensions for Autodesk Fusion 360 that also work on Linux. 📦

These include the extensions:

• Czech localization for F360 (7.6 - New & now free!) 🇨🇿

The Czech localization for Autodesk® Fusion 360™ is now a free add-in, which installs and activates the Czech user interface (UI) in Fusion 360 and keeps it updated during the frequent release updates of this CAD/CAM product. Before you had to pay something for this addon to be able to use it.

• HP 3D Printers for Autodesk® Fusion 360™ (1.0.0.50 - New) 🧩

The Add-In now works with both V2 and legacy format machines. All print profiles supported by HP APIs can now be selected and submitted during job ticket creation. Components are automatically transformed to the correct coordinates for all supported HP printers when a job is submitted. If the printer's job queue is full, a new error message is displayed after submitting a job ticket to the printer.

• Ultimaker Digital Factory for Autodesk Fusion 360™ (1.1.0.65 - New) 🧩

Removed "Upload toolpath to project" option

I will switch my setup wizard to Python so that configuring and installing Autodesk Fusion 360 is even easier in the future. 🪄

Because when using Zenity and Yad, there were always a wide variety of errors that I cannot accept! ⛔️

But you have to be patient a little longer, as this will take a little time. ⏰

You've probably wondered why I haven't published a lot of videos or posts lately. Yes, on the one hand it's because I'm very busy at work at the moment and on the other hand because I've made a lot of changes to the Setup Wizard, README files and the documentation! 🛠

However, some construction sites are still open and please forgive me if I don't have everything working properly. ❤️

Regarding my setup wizard, there will be instructions for installing Autodesk Fusion 360 in the documentation in the future. This gives you the option of installing the program without the Setup Wizard. This allows temporary errors in my scripts to be bypassed. 🐞

The following changes have already been implemented:

• Setup Wizard is now rendered with YAD and no longer with Zenity
• README files revised and more languages added
• Documentation will be simplified for the future
• ...

At the moment an installation of Autodesk Fusion 360 under Linux is apparently no longer possible because something has changed in the original Autodesk Fusion 360 Installer (EXE), which is causing the installation to fail!

You may be wondering what I do all the time? 🔍

Well, I'm currently working on my own application for Linux that allows you to call up certain functions of Autodesk Fusion 360 or FreeCAD even without a special mouse! ⚗️ 🔭 🔬

You will also get other useful functions and the Easy3DLauncher program will be built into my speech-assistant later, so that certain functions can be used there. 💬

Well, you see, I'm not just sitting lazily on the bench! 🏖

Many of you always have the problem that Autodesk Fusion 360 may not work on the system after installation!

For this reason, I would like to point out again that you please look at this table from time to time, as it shows which Wine versions are supported or which cause problems.

Because Wine Version 7.3 contains its own bugs that lead to serious errors!

So please look in the terminal with the command:

 wine --version

... according to which version you are using!

There is already a solution to the problem...

You can either use version 7.2 or use the newer version 7.4 released this week.

Because with the Vserion 7.4 these bugs were fixed and some patches were installed!

I made some changes to the auto-update function again today! 💡

This means that from now on the build version number of Autodesk Fusion 360 on the system will be compared to my database! 🗃

This reduces problems and allows the use of insider and production builds. ⚗️ 🔭 🔬

But you have to delete the update-config.txt file in the $HOME/.config/fusion-360/bin folder and update the launcher.sh file as well! 🚫

Otherwise you will not receive the update. 👎

I got it today that the KeyShot 10.2 program for Solid Edge 2022 works under Linux and will now check the whole thing with Autodesk Fusion 360 as well!

I have already carried out the first tests and the rendering, as well as the editing of projects in it, works.

I also published a new project for this program here on GitHub!

I've made some changes to the setup wizard over the last few days and weeks, and also added some files! 📥

And for that reason, it's important that you take a look at what's changed:

• Auto-Update function

• All personal and Autodesk Fusion 360 files are moved to "/$HOME/.config/fusion-360/..."*

• All new installations of Autodesk Fusion 360 automatically run in a kind of sandbox!

• Xterm has been removed!

• Autodesk Fusion 360 can be removed via a separate file (uninstall.sh)!

*Notice: For everything to work properly, I recommend a clean install! It is best to remove the old Wineprefix and back up all data beforehand.
