MenuMeters

Fixes a bug in the menu of the memory meter which I introduced while refactoring. I am sorry for the mess.

Fixes issue #258 and #263, and incorporates many of improvements contributed by @schriftgestalt

@agraf kindly fixed a crashing bug on new Macbook Pros with M1 max or M1 pro.

The temperature sensor to be used is now selectable.

Now shows the CPU temperature also for Apple Silicon macs.

• The font size of CPU temperature now follows the font size of the CPU meter.
• The CPU meter pull-down menu now shows the thermal power limit status.
• The memory pressure mode of the memory meter now reports the value as shown in the system Activity Monitor.
• The net meter now reports the Airport speed as shown in the system WiFi menu.
• You can now reset traffic totals in the net meter.
• MenuMeters show CPU frequency on Apple Silicon.
• Other minor bug fixes. If you have opened a GitHub issue, please have a look.

(2.1.2.1 had a bug where the CPU meter did not show the top digit of the temperature in °F if it was above 100°F.)
(2.1.2 had a bug where the net meter did not load in some cases.)

• A bug in the net meter on Big Sur was fixed, where it sometimes showed 0 bytes/sec unless the menu was brought up by clicking it.
• Started preliminary Apple Silicon support. If the app crashes, please open it in Rosetta.

The order of various 'meters' in the menu bar should now be preserved on Big Sur.

• Now you can select colors with transparencies. (It's really one line of code, to override the default setting that the color panel doesn't show the opacity slider. I don't know why it's the default in 2020.)

• The auto-updater now sends basic system info, such as macOS version and cpu type. For more details, see https://sparkle-project.org/documentation/system-profiling/ . This is to objectively decide how much effort I should put into maintaining compatibility with older macOS versions and/or adopting new CPU architectures.

This is the stable release for 2.0.8.x .

1. You can now tint the colors toward black/white depending on whether the system is in the light/dark mode, using a slider.
2. Activity Monitor can now be opened from any MenuMeter.
3. Many other bug fixes.
4. Probably with new bugs, due to my ongoing rewrite of the internals toward Big Sur.

(The original 2.0.8 contained a bug which made it unusable when the menubar was set to auto-hide. The version 2.0.8.2 I released to address the issue in fact made it unusable in other cases too, which was public only for about two hours but ~600 people downloaded. This version 2.0.8.3 should behave better.)

Fixes a serious bug where the app does not load correctly when the main menu bar is in the auto-hide mode.

It should fix #185 = #189 .

Unfortunately the bug killed the auto-updater itself, so those affected need to install the binary by manually downloading it.

Fixes two bugs in 2.0.8:

• the dark mode support was in fact made worse on pre-Mojave systems
• the activity monitor pane support was broken on Mac's with discrete GPUs

CPU display modes are now configured in a saner way. You can now only show the CPU temperature, or even just a static label.

The release 2.0.6 I uploaded about a day ago didn't actually fix #159, due to my stupid last minute change. It actually made things worse. This 2.0.6.1 should really fix the issue.

(Just to remember, the mistake I made was that when I tried to commit the bug fix, I realize that the some of the lines had only indent changes. To revert these lines, I copied the changes elsewhere, reverted the change, and applied the changes again, but to a different location with almost the same code. Ugh.)

Due to popular demand, you can now choose the interval to check the update. Also includes a fix for a dark mode bug.

What a different world we live in right now. New Finnish localization thanks to @lanurmi , and the fix for a CPU percentage bug thanks to @macmaxbh .
