The add-on seems to work with Anki 2.1.50+ after downloading the PIL library for Python 3.9 as a .whl from https://pypi.org/project/Pillow/#files (or use these direct download links below), unzipping it and copy/replacing everything including the PIL folder to the add-on's "vendor" folder (Tools > Add-ons > Batch Download ... > View Files).

Alternatively, the attached .ankiaddon file can be used too, but it's a bit outdated and won't work without additionally replacing __init__.py
with the updated version from the repository (or editing __init__.py
and updating "User-Agent").
To install it, download the attached .ankiaddon file and double-click on it or use Anki > Tools > Add-ons > Install from file, and restart Anki.
Similar to AnkiWeb, there will be a warning.
It wasn't tested on Linux & Mac.
