mister-bin

✨ Binaries + Steroids = Abracadabra !

An attempt to address moul/random-ideas#5 and moul/random-ideas#6.

This project is composed of two binaries, a misterbin binary, and a misterbuild binary builder:

• misterbuild
  • packages a list of binaries, libraries and assets
  • generates a misterbin static binary
  • requires Golang to generate the misterbin binary
• misterbin
  • generated by misterbuild
  • misterbin install installs all the binaries to disk (equivalent to busybox --install
    • standard mode is to extract the binaries to disk and configure permissions
    • alternative mode is to create symlinks pointing to itself
  • misterbin uninstall is the opposite of misterbin install
  • misterbin BINARY-NAME [args...] executes a packaged binary
  • with the symlink /bin/BINARY-NAME -> /path/to/misterbin, calling /bin/BINARY-NAME [args...] is equivalent to misterbin BINARY-NAME [args...]

misterbuild
